I woke up about an hour and fifteen minutes ago and, for some unknown reason, I had it in my head that I needed to post about Cleveland post-hip-hop artist Kid Cudi. The image above is from his single "Day-N-Nite" which is avail on iTunes. More info @ www.kidcudi.com He's signed to G.O.O.D. music, Kanye's label and makes a couple of appearances on 808's & Heartbreak.
Bloc Party is one of my favorite bands and this is their new video, which is directed by Ace Norton. Ace makes creatively weird videos (typically). Also, you have to love the line "I'm sitting in SoHo trying to stay drunk."
If you go to our old blog at www.mikeandtimschneider.blogspot.com you can listen to music that was in our original draft of THE SURFACE. Tim often writes to music, and at times we place music cues within our scripts. We removed them from the draft that went out because we felt like they got in the way of the tension and intensity of the reading experience. The songs, which can be streamed at the old blog, are in the order they appeared in the script - typically they're placed at big moments. For example, "Honey, Honey" by Feist was timed with Grant and Kate first seeing the cloud of gas appear over downtown Chicago.
In the midst of our team at Benderspink working on selling THE SURFACE, a light-hearted post that also acknowledges one of our influences: Pharrell Williams. After the jump, Pharrell's thank you 'graph from the new N*E*R*D record, Seeing Sounds, in stores today...
Chester French is a couple of white boys who are signed to Star Trak, the Neptunes label at Interscope.
Show is Thursday, June 5th. We may or may not be there.
"Chemtrails" by Beck, off the new album produced by Dangermouse

This post is somewhat ruined by the fact that I was led to believe NIN frontman Trent Reznor was a fellow Cleveland boy (he isn't). However, GHOSTS I-IV is a new instrumental collection by the man, 36 tracks, available if you go to the NIN website (google search "nine inch nails ghosts" and it'll come right up - today hasn't been a day that's made me feel like providing a direct link).
Today Tim and I were lamenting how we couldn't find the right music to include in our new script...and then I happened to put Ghosts I on the iPod....
See you soon.
